Brick-By Brick Building

outside
The Arc of Natrona County is excited to announce our new building fund campaign, "Brick By Brick." The goal of this program is to acquire a larger facility so we can expand the amount of free care provided to individuals with special needs. The "Brick By Brick" campaign allows caring individuals of any economic level to make a local impact. Theoretical bricks can be purchased for as little as $25.00 a piece, and the proceeds go directly into The Arc of Natrona County, Inc.'s Building Fund.
Due to the inadequate building space, The Arc of Natrona County currently has a waiting list for the Inclusion Program.

About Our Current Building:

  • The Arc's current building has 3600 usable square feet, approximately 1860 of which are designated "kid space"
  • The Arc office houses 4 administrative offices, a school room, and our after school and full day summer program for individuals with special needs.
  • The Arc staff prepares lunch for 20+ kids in our kitchen during the summer, without the use of a stove or oven. Meal preparation is all done through the use of two microwaves, and the kitchen is only able to fit two adults comfortably. The Arc also lacks a dishwasher, and our direct care staff are also responsible for clean-up.
  • The Arc only has one handicapped accessible restroom, with no bathing facilities.
  • The Arc currently does NOT have any usable outdoor space or a "play-ground" for our children to play. During the summer months, our participants must be transported to an accessible site to enjoy any outdoor summer recreation.

The Arc's "Dream Building" will include:

  • A full service kitchen, equipped with a stove, oven, and dishwasher. This would enable The Arc to provide hot lunches and allow our participants to gain valuable cooking skills/experience/independence.
  • An outdoor play area that is handicapped accessible, as well as an indoor gym for our nine months of wonderful Wyoming winter.
  • A Sensory Room to accommodate our participants' unique needs.
  • Multiple handicapped accessible restrooms, including bathing facilities.
  • A conference room to facilitate staff trainings and participant meetings.
  • Age appropriate, separate, and defined areas of the building, including: Computer lab, T.V. area, game room, library, Tot Center, personal hygiene and rest areas, and space for inclusive interaction.
